About El Cholo
In 1923 the founders opened their first restaurant, Sonora Cafe. A few years later, the name was changed to El Cholo, a name once given to Mexican field hands. Five generations have worked to make El Cholo a familiar and trusted name for authentic Mexican food with six locations throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
